Water Master
Background
A native of New Mexico, John Thorson has lived and practiced law in Arizona, California, Montana, and New Mexico. His legal career has focused on water law and policy with an emphasis on general stream adjudications, federal and tribal water rights, interstate litigation, and alternative dispute resolution. In addition to private practice and law school teaching, Thorson has served as Special Master for the Arizona General Stream Adjudication, Assistant Chief Judge for the California Public Utilities Commission, and Chair of the congressionally chartered Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee.
